Fat provides heat when we're cold, it provides insulation to our bones & internal organs & even our muscles & it is a way of preventing starvation. When we eat too much, and we don't burn off those calories with exercise or day by day activities, the excess gets turned into fat. With all that we're eating these days, that fat is accumulating at a rapid rate.

Balance Is Key

Best nutrition is all about balance. You don't have to furnish up your favorite foods, treats & desserts. You do, however, have to balance these out so that you don't get too overweight. You should eat plenty of fruits & vegetables, lean meats and you should even take some nutrition supplements such as vitamins. Use your treats and desserts as rewards for yourself for doing so well on your nutrition throughout the week. You can maintain a healthy weight by eating fine for an entire week & then splurging one or even two days during that week; provided that you glow off the excess calories with exercise.

If You're Overweight

If you're by now overweight & you want to lose that weight, proper nutrition along with exercise is the only way to do it. If you eat a balanced diet, eat smaller meals extra often & get at least thirty minutes of exercise three to five times per week, that weight will come off in no time. A few walks around the block are sufficient to burn enough calories to assist you lose weight as long as your nutrition is balanced.
