All approximately the world, people are getting fatter & fatter. Yet the nations that never before had to worry regarding obesity, such as China, Japan & even Korea, are now seeing an epidemic. It seems that nobody is safe from the ever expanding waistline. So what is making us as fat as a species? The answer lies in one two words: poor nutrition. Nutrition is something that we are severely lacking when it comes to what we eat, how much we eat and when we eat. With fast food restaurants on nearly every bend, portion sizes gradually getting out of control and even the types of food becoming more fat, sugar & preservative laden, it's no wonder we can no longer see our own feet. There is a key, however, & it can only come from nutrition knowledge.
Food Is Fuel
We are so focused these days on food and the taste of it, & how much of it we find, that we overlook that food is merely fuel for us. Food gives us the energy we want to get through our days. When we have too much fuel, it gets stored as fat. Fat isn't our body's mode of getting back at us or its way of being spiteful, our body's are merely acting as they were designed to do. Fat provides heat when we're cold, it provides insulation to our bones & internal organs & even our muscles & it is a way of preventing starvation. When we eat too much, and we don't burn off those calories with exercise or day by day activities, the excess gets turned into fat. With all that we're eating these days, that fat is accumulating at a rapid rate.
Balance Is Key
Best nutrition is all about balance. You don't have to furnish up your favorite foods, treats & desserts. You do, however, have to balance these out so that you don't get too overweight. You should eat plenty of fruits & vegetables, lean meats and you should even take some nutrition supplements such as vitamins. Use your treats and desserts as rewards for yourself for doing so well on your nutrition throughout the week. You can maintain a healthy weight by eating fine for an entire week & then splurging one or even two days during that week; provided that you glow off the excess calories with exercise.
If You're Overweight
If you're by now overweight & you want to lose that weight, proper nutrition along with exercise is the only way to do it. If you eat a balanced diet, eat smaller meals extra often & get at least thirty minutes of exercise three to five times per week, that weight will come off in no time. There is no simple fix for weight loss. It does take work. However, you don't have to do like the commercials and infomercials show; where everyone's sweating & panting until they die. A few walks around the block are sufficient to burn enough calories to assist you lose weight as long as your nutrition is balanced.
