Why Is Everyone So Concerned With Skin Care And Make Up?

Skin Care And Make UpYou don’t have to turn on the TV for very long to see at least one commercial fair the latest skin care and make up products. Everywhere you look, you have models friction creams on their faces, putting lotion on their arms & legs, rubbing blush on their cheeks or putting eye liner around their eyes. The world & western culture mainly, is gripped with skin care and make up. Where does this fixation come from & is it healthy?

The Media

The media has a fascination with perfection. Or rather, it has an interest with the fantasy of perfection. Models are paid a lot of money to advertise the latest skin care and make up products. People see these models on TV, in magazines & in the movies & they want to look just like them. Even though most people will never look like a model, that doesn’t stop them from buying the newest skin care & make up products & following the newest skin care beauty tips so that they can try to look like these models who thrust the fantasy of perfection.

Is It Healthy?

Is this obsession with perfection healthy? Well, it’s always good to take care of your skin & many of the skin care and make up products are actually good for your skin. They moisturize, they clear your pores & they can help you feel & look better. However, when skin care and make up becomes so much of a fixation that you use most of your money on it, that’s when it can become unhealthy & a problem. You must always find a healthy balance in everything & that includes skin care & make up.

Love Yourself For Who You Are

It’s good to take care of yourself with skin care & make up products but understand that you may never look like the models on TV. That’s because even the models themselves are naturally covered in make up & they may even be photo shopped. You’d be stunned to see some of those models on the street. They may look just like you. However, when they’re done up with the latest skin care & make up products & they have unusual lighting on them and they have been photo shopped, they look perfect & that’s what pushes the products into the minds & the shopping carts of many optimistic consumers who want so roughly to look perfect like they do.
